Politics

I loved the comments on the last blog. At the same time that is exactly what's wrong with politics. No one can give a straight answer. The fact is this. There was an election, somebody obviously had to end up with more votes. It looks like it's Al Franken at this point, but we are going to battle it out in court. How does Norm Coleman justify this? He was the clown who stood up after the election and said, "If he was in Al Franken's position, he wouldn't appeal the decision." That is not a direct quote. I have no real sources to back it up, but I remember something to that effect.
So my point is why doesn't he practice what he preaches. I don't care about all of this bullshit with military votes, and absentee ballots. That is all just political jargon, for being a poor sport. Are we really supposed to believe that these ballots are so critical that we need to delay the results more than 5 months. If that is the case why don't we take that into account for each and every election we had. Wouldn't that sway more then just the battle for a spot in the senate.
My whole point is not a battle for republicans or democrats. It is for the a system that works. And some of you can not look outside your political leaning to see that. Some of you have presented facts that I can not dispute. But isn't that what judges and lawyers are for. Why does it take 5+ months to figure it out. An additional run off election is not the answer. What would make us think that, that would give us different results. We should just figure out how to do this right. We are supposed to be the most powerful country in the world.
All I see is a system that doesn't work. How come no one is being held accountable. It must be somebody's job to make sure this stuff works. If you are not intelligent enough to fill out a ballot, or smart enough to return it in time, than piss off.
Get a system that works. I don't want to here your left or right side. I just want to know that we can run an election that works. It didn't work this time, so every person involved should lost their job. We're paying these people to take ballots count them and declare a winner. That is obviously to sophisticated for them. So find a handful of competent people, put them in position to get this done.

In a word, yes. Yes they are that important. In an election decided by a few hundred votes either way they are that important.

I wouldn't say that asking for all the votes to be counted is being a poor sport. I would, on the other hand, say that wanting the results to be finalized in the name of time after five months is foolish at best. I mean, what is the difference between five months and a week really? Using your logic we shouldn't have had any recount at all and Norm would have been the winner. It is important to get things done quickly, afterall. I think the integrity of our system is far more critical that rushing to judgment. Obviously the world has kept on turning with us having only one Senator. I would rather have an election with integrity than a Senator.

As for who is in charge of making sure things run smoothly. His name is Mark Richie. He is a political hack who had his campaign funded by another, richer, political hack named Sorros. Mr. Richie is SOS of MN. Blame him.

Well if Mark Richie is to blame than he should lose his job. What an clown ass bitch. How difficult can it really be to figure this out. I can guarentee you that if I had five months I could figure out who is the winner.

You mention that is doesn't matter time wise, as long as it's right. I have to disagree with part and agree with part. I do want it right. But at the same time, shouldn't we have a plan in place so that it doesn't take this long. We have functioned just fine without one of them in Washington. So what is going to change when one of them eventually gets there. How much longer will this take. When will Norm Coleman stop appealing? And now what if eventually Coleman is declared the winner. Obviously Franken will file the same appeals. So this system is obviously broken. So someone has to be held accountable.

If you cannot follow simple instructions on how to fill out your ballot, you should not be allowed to vote.

If you cannot correctly collect ballots and feed them into a machine, you should not be allowed to work.

If you cannot count, then maybe you have Benjamin Button disease and you're actually only a year old.

And if you are one of the people that is getting paid a lot of money for this situation to drag out 5 months, you should be deported to Congo.
