Go back and look at my week #1 predictions and you'll see my AFC representative as the Pittsburgh Steelers. So that's my great NFL mind. Ignore my NFC pick because they didn't make the playoffs. It certainly wasn't the Cardinals. So now we have the Cardinals vs. Steelers.
I personally don't think the Cardinals stand a chance. I know Kurt Warner is playing great, which I 100% think they better keep him next year. The way he picked up the Eagles blitz in the first half Sunday was unreal. But the Steelers defense is amazing. They are probably the best defense since the Ravens defense when they won the super bowl.
One point I'd like to make that I've been saying for a while now. I think Ben Roethlisberger deserves to be in the same conversations at Tom Brady. Erase the season where he got into a motorcycle accidents and almost died. The rest of the seasons are pretty impressive. You have to remember that Tom Brady didn't have the most spectacular stats prior to Welker/Moss. Brady has 3 super bowls in his first 9 seasons. Roethlisberger has the chance to win his 2nd super bowl in his 5th season. They both have great postseason records. They both rise to the occasion. They play their best in big games, playoffs, and are fantastic on 3rd downs. So I'd like to see what Roethlisberger could do with a passing offense.

NFL Challenges
Wouldn't it be kind of cool to go back in time to the beginning of the NFL. Watch every game and analyze and assume what would be different if there were always challenges. It could change major things within the NFL.
It could quite possibly re-write the entire history of the NFL. Not only that but it could completely change peoples lives. I'd say its safe to assume that there are at least a few couples who met at Super Bowls or Playoff Games. So if the outcomes of certain games were different obviously their records would be different so those games or events would never have happened. So the odds of those two people meeting is really diminished.
It's pretty obvious that any time you change history it has a snowball effect on everything that happens after that. Ask Marty McFly or Doc. But something as unimportant as NFL challenges could sway lives.
Lets look at other decisions that had a major impact. You have to remember to how important some of the NFL teams are to their cities. They also have a major economic impact as well as enjoyment of life. Think about it you watch football for 21 Sunday's a year, 16-17 watching the Vikings, and 2-3 watching other teams. Now during those Sunday often times you're getting together with friends and family. So that is basically 3 weeks of every year watching and enjoying football. What other event or sport draws people together that much?
What if the Packers don't trade for Brett Favre?
What if the Colts draft Ryan Leaf instead of Peyton Manning?
What if Gary Anderson makes the kick in the 1999, NFC championship game?
What if Scott Norwood makes the kick in the 1991 Super Bow?
What if Adam Vinatieri ever missed?
What if Drew Bledsoe never gets hurt, does 6th round pick Tom Brady ever play?
What if Duante Culpepper never got hurt?
What if T.O. wasn't crazy?
This is just the tip of the iceberg. But just think if Gary Anderson had made the kick. We win the Super Bowl by beating the Broncos. Then in 2000 we role into our 2nd NFC championship game in 3 years, and a Super Bowl ring. Would we lose 41-0 and not host a playoff game again for 8 years?

NCAA Championship tonight
I'm taking Oklahoma tonight to beat Florida. I think it's going to be a fun and exciting game, but Oklahoma can just score so many points. Obviously Florida's offense is great too, but I just think the Sooners have a little more on defense. Sam Bradford vs. Tim Tebow, heisman vs. heisman. It's going to be FUN!

Welcome to 2009
All right my winter break is over. I'd like to welcome you to 2009 and we are going to dive into the a few topics today, and I'll continue to update regularly again.
First off I find it very amusing that a day after the elections took place back in November Norm Coleman said, "Al Franken should not ask for a recount, and if he were in Al's shoes he would have accepted defeat." But then yesterday former senator Coleman filed a lawsuit of his own over the results of the senatorial election that has claimed Al Franken as the winner. Way to stand by your word Norman. Also Norm Coleman has now lost elections to Jesse Ventura and Al Franken.
Secondly if you're looking to purchase a house. Never ever ever go through Wells Fargo. And if the name BRIAN WARHOL ever pops up as someone you have to deal with, run like hell. He is in my opinion the WORST HUMAN BEING ALIVE! Tell your friends and family about him, scream it from a mountain!
Next up how can the Utah football team not be national champions? They won every single game they played. Something no other team in America will do in Division I football this year. So Utah never really actually had a chance to win a National Championship then. So what are these teams supposed to be playing for? This entire system is a joke? So you might have a 1 loss Oklahoma as the champion even though they lost to a 1 loss team, in Texas. So you might have a 1 loss team, Florida as the National Champion, but what about the 1 loss team USC? How can you justify voting for any of these teams over another? The college rankings are a joke. Take basketball for instance. Last week North Carolina was the unanimous #1 team in the country they lost 1 game. And now they're #3 in both polls. And their even behind another team Duke who has lost 1 game too. Did that much change over night in the eyes of 100 voters. They rankings should be abolished. At the very least they should not begin before the season. Have them start halfway through.
Minnesota sports are in complete disarray. The Vikings still do not have a quarterback, and are keeping a coach who has proven time after time, that isn't smarter than the average fan. The Timberwolves will win enough games that they'll get a pick in the 4-7 range, and then we'll find out there are 3 great players. And even if we do draft a great player, we'll trade him before the night is over (Ray Allen, Brandon Roy, O.J. Mayo, Mario Chalmers). So let's start making room for another white player that doesn't have a true NBA position. "Ladies and Gentlemen with the 5th pick in the NBA draft the Minnesota Timberwolves take Tyler Hansborough from the University of North Carolina!" The Wild will be mediocre enough to finish with the 7th or 8th seed, and get stomped by the Red Wings or Sharks. So Eason if you read this I do not want to purchase playoff tickets this year. The Twins give us a little reason to be optimistic, but our biggest off season move was signing Nick Punto. So yes we have a good young pitching staff, but are they all going to improve as expected? Are we going to say with 100% confidence that Span and Casilla are going to have years like they did last year? What about Gomez is he going to make us forget about Johan Santana? How about this. Carl Pohlad just died. If his family wants to convince us that they aren't as frugal as ol Carl. Go out and sign Manny. Put him in left, move Monroe to right, and put Cuddyer at 3rd. It's time for a change
The Minnesota wild are in a tailspin. It's time for a change. I don't think it's crazy to say it's time for J. Lemaire to go. I know, I know he's won 1 million Stanley cups as a player and a coach. But the one Stanley cup he did win he also had Scott Stevens and Martin Broduer. Last time I checked we don't have them. We don't even have Neil Broten. Obviously Gaborik coming back will add a spark, but how much. Will he play the rest of the season with us? Doug Risebourgh needs to be criticised along with our other fav GM Kevin McHale. Doug brought in James Sheppard whose terrible. He's kept Stephan Veilloux whose even worse. And he signed Pierre Marc Bouchard to a long term contract. Look at their numbers. These guys are NHL players??? Meanwhile you could put together and entire line of forwards and defensemen from the University of Minnesota better than any line we can produce. I'd take Vanek, Wheeler, and Kessel as my forwards, and Goligowski and Martin as my defensemen. But we have the moronic Canadians thinking they know better. Hey hop on 94W and watch a few games at Mariucii. You might see some forwards that actually score once in a while. But let's keep talking about how many cups they won in Montreal. This isn't 1970, the NHL has changed a bit. We're playing pre lockout hockey after the lock out. Here is the perfect example that they don't know what they're doing. Andrew Brunette was on our team for 3 years, 2001-2004, then the lockout happened. Mr. Risebourough didn't think he'd succeed after the lockout. So we let him go to Colorado where he amassed 200 points in 3 seasons. And then we bring him back now that he's 35. Oh yeah by the way PMB is on pace for 41 points this season, James Sheppard is on pace for 16, and Veilloux is on pace for 11. These are the players the Doug and Jaque want to put on the ice for a fan base that has sold out every single pre season, regular season, and post season game in the history of the franchise.
